Drake Views Review

So here it is. My first music review will be on what is most arguably the biggest rap album of the year in the form of Views from Drake. His first “album” since 2013’s Nothing Was The Same, it’s primed for big sales numbers as a result from all the hype from his most recent projects “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” a surprise you gotta pay for “mixtape” and “What a Time to Be Alive” another you gotta pay for “mixtape. Both released in 2015, the hype for the latest album has been real ranging from memes that were given birth from Hotline Bling to his feud with Meek Mill. Did he live up to it? Let’s find out track by track. But first a little history behind me and the artist in question.

Hardcore Henry is Hardcore Fun

Excuse the horrible title but it’s honestly the best way to describe the movie without spoiling it and sounding like a wannabe critic at the same time.  We’re gonna keep this short and sweet and go straight to talking about the movie. Hardcore Henry is an action movie filmed in the first person perspective so it’s pretty often likened to popular video games like Doom, Halo and Call of Duty. If you haven’t heard about the movie, check out a trailer on Youtube and hopefully be impressed.

Uhhh, I’m gonna attempt to actually make this review SPOILER FREE because I enjoyed it so much I would like other people to enjoy it without spoiling my favorite parts of the movie.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale Gave Me Blueballs

Goodbye *insert name of dearly beloved character here*, HELLO NEGAN!!

This was the title of my post before the season finale aired. I did so because I honestly did not believe AMC would end the finale the way they did. They followed Negan’s intro speech from the comics nearly perfectly (no F-Bombs unfortunately) and it gave me chills. I felt my heart racing when he finally informed Rick’s group he was going to slaughter one of them and started methodically playing eenie meenie miney mo since he couldn’t decide. The music was chilling, the tension was at an all time high and I truly felt like we were going to see someone truly beloved…

But it never came. Well it did. But it killed the person we never thought would die.

Justice League vs Teen Titans: Another Mediocre DC Animated Feature.

Justice League vs Teen Titans. The latest DC animated movie continues a long string of mediocre DC animated features since DC opted to include the DC animated universe in the whole new 52 reboot and man has the overall quality gone down as a result. I was born in 1992 so I ended up growing up with the DC animated universe being formed from Batman the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series and of course the Justice League. In addition to that, we had shows like the Teen Titans, Static Shock and oh yeah Batman Beyond.  Man, what a time to be alive. In addition to those shows, we also had a decent string of animated movies that accompanied them such as Superman/Batman Public Enemies, Justice League Crisis on Two Earth, Batman: Under the Red Hood, All Star Superman, Justice League Doom and Batman the Dark Knight Returns.  I honestly believe those shows and most of the movies captured the essence of the characters they featured. Superman the big blue boy scout, Batman the brooding loner, Wonder Woman, the headstrong and beautiful warrior and so on and so forth. So you can kinda see why I think the current line of DC animated movies are kinda…okay. They use the New 52 versions of the DC characters rather than the ones that have been around for quite a bit now so they don’t quite have the same feel. So now with some backstory on how I feel about the animated universe in general, let’s move on to the review. I will attempt to make this review spoiler free so let’s do this.

Batman V Superman is not a proud beginning to the DC Cinematic Universe

Batman V Superman Dawn of Disappointment Justice. 3 years of hype and the movie is finally here. Unfortunately all the hype is what ultimately leads to its downfall. It’s definitely not the worst superhero movie out there (go see X-Men Origins Wolverine) but it takes the task of establishing multiple characters for a brand new cinematic universe and fails on multiple fronts. Here is my review of the movie using a simplistic structure:

Story. Pros. Cons. Final Verdict.

There will be SPOILERS so if you don’t want to read that, leave now! Let’s begin.

Welcome to my little website/blog/thing.

As the site is called, I like movies and music. So I’ll be using this website to detail my thoughts on anything movie and music related. My name is Paul and I’m a New Yorker from Puerto Rico with a rich love of comics, hip hop, cartoons, some anime and writing.
